HOW TO ENTER: HOW WILL YOU CARRY THE TORCH?
In 50 words or less, tell us how you'll carry the torch for the UC Capitals this season. Share how your family will get behind the team, what makes you passionate about the UC Caps, and why you're excited to cheer them on throughout the season.
Entries should be original and your own work.

TERMS AND CONDTITIONS
1. The following terms and conditions apply to the “Tell us how you will carry the torch” Competition (Competition) and by submitting an entry to this Competition, entrants warrant that they have read, understand and agree to be bound by them.
2. The Promoter is ActewAGL Retail ABN 46 221 314 841, a partnership of Icon Retail Investments Limited ABN 23 074 371 207 and AGL ACT Retail Investments Pty Ltd ABN 53 093 631 586 (Promoter).
3. The Competition is conducted in partnership with The University of Canberra (UC) Capitals, who may assist with promotion, publication and/or administration of the Competition.
4. Competition commences at 00:00 on 21 October 2026 and closes at 23:59 on 9 November 2026 (Entry Period).
5. Entry is open to current ActewAGL residential customers with an active electricity or gas account, and their immediate family members.
6. Entrants must be 18 years or over at the time of entry.
7. Employees of the Promoter, the University of Canberra (UC) Capitals and their related bodies corporate, associated sponsors, agencies and participating companies, and their immediate families, are ineligible to enter the Competition.
8. To enter the Competition, eligible entrants must email their entry to community.partnerships@actewagl.com.au, and state in 50 words or less how you will carry the torch for the UC Capitals this season. The entry should include the name of the entrant, email address and a contact phone number.
9. Entries must be original, and your own work.
10. Multiple entries per person are not permitted; however, entries may be submitted by members from the same family.
11. This is a game of skill and chance plays no part in determining the winners. Entries will be individually judged based on creativity, relevance to the theme and suitability for publication. The judges’ decision is final and cannot be contested. No correspondence will be entered into.
12. Incomplete, incomprehensible, inappropriate or non-compliant entries will be deemed invalid and disqualified.
13. The winners will be selected by the judging panel at ActewAGL House, 40 Bunda Street, Canberra ACT 2601 on 10 November 2026.
14. In the case of an ineligible entrant being selected as a Prize winner, the Prize will be awarded to the next best eligible entrant as selected by the judging panel.
15. The total Prize draw consists of one (1) 2026/27 Season UC Capitals Gold Family Membership, to the value of $1,125, consisting of reserved seating for two (2) adult tickets and two (2) child tickets, to attend UC Capitals home games at the AIS Arena during the 2026/27 season. Full Season Member benefits include savings for single game tickets, 10% off merchandise, reserved seating, advanced access to finals tickets, member only pre-season and mid-season event, full season member pack and exclusive sponsor offers, as outlined at uccapitals.wnbl.com.au/pages/packages
16. The Prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
17. The Prize winner will be contacted by phone and/or email using the contact details provided at entry.
18. The Promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity, age, residency and eligibility to claim the Prize. Proof considered suitable for verification is at the Promoter’s sole discretion. If a winner cannot provide suitable proof, the winner will forfeit the Prize in whole, and no substitute will be offered.
19. The Promoter is not responsible or liable if for any reason beyond its reasonable control any element of the Prize is not provided or becomes unavailable.
20. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation in Prize value.
21. If the Prize is unclaimed, the Promoter may award the Prize to the next best eligible entry as selected by the judging panel.
22. Entrants warrant that their entry does not infringe the rights of any third party, including copyright, moral rights, privacy rights or publicity rights.
23. Entrants grant the Promoter, the UC Capitals and their related bodies corporate, agents and licensees a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, publish, edit, adapt, communicate and display their entry in any media, including for editorial, promotional, advertising, social media, digital, print and outdoor purposes, without payment or further approval.
24. Entrants acknowledge that their entry, name and locality may be published on the UC Capitals channels, ActewAGL channels, social media, advertising, public relations and promotional materials.
25. Entrants consent to any act or omission that would otherwise infringe their moral rights in their entry.
26. It is a condition of entry that the Promoter and the UC Capitals have the right to publicise the names, likenesses, voices, images and entries of any entrants for any promotion or matter incidental to the Competition.
27. To the extent permitted by law, all entrants release from, and indemnify the Promoter and the UC Capitals against, all liability, cost, loss or expense arising out of entry into the Competition, acceptance and use of the Prize or use of an entry, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
28. If for any reason this Competition cannot run as planned, including due to technical failures, unauthorised intervention, computer virus, tampering, fraud or any other causes beyond the control of the Promoter, the Promoter reserves the right, subject to applicable laws, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition.
29. The Promoter and the UC Capitals accept no responsibility for any late, lost, incomplete, incorrectly submitted, delayed, corrupted or misdirected entries.
30. The Promoter may, subject to applicable laws, vary the terms of or terminate this Competition at any time at its discretion without liability to any entrant or other person.
31. All decisions and actions of the Promoter relating to the Competition and/or redemption of the Prize are final. No discussions or correspondence will be entered into.
32. A failure by the Promoter to enforce any one of these terms and conditions in any instance will not give rise to any claim or right of action by any other person or entrant.
33. The Promoter and the UC Capitals collect, use and share the information provided by entrants to run, promote and evaluate this Competition, including managing entries, contacting entrants, sending updates, notifying winners, judging entries, awarding and fulfilling prizes, publishing entries and winners, and related promotional and advertising activity. Entrants’ information may be disclosed to related bodies corporate, contractors, service providers, agencies, technology providers, website providers, judging partners, and advertising platforms, and may be stored or processed outside Australia. Personal information will be handled in accordance with the ActewAGL Privacy Policy and The University of Canberra Capitals Privacy Policy.
34. The Competition website is hosted in Australia.
35. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from Prize winnings.
36. Entries not fully complying with these terms and conditions may be deemed invalid at the Promoter’s discretion.
37. All amounts include GST unless otherwise stated.
