ActewAGL is proud to launch the 2025 Community Grants program, offering grants of up to $30,000 to support impactful projects across the region. The program is open to community groups, not-for-profits and charitable organisations.
As part of its longstanding commitment to the local community, ActewAGL is inviting eligible organisations to submit applications for initiatives focused on innovation, environmental sustainability, support for vulnerable populations and community engagement.
"We are proud to give back to our community in such a meaningful way," says Rachael Turner, General Manager of ActewAGL Retail. "Over the years, ActewAGL has supported hundreds of inspiring projects. At the heart of our ActewAGL Community Grants program is a strong commitment to caring for the region and our local community.”
Previous recipients of the ActewAGL Community Grants program have delivered a broad range of impactful projects—from the creation of a Bush Tucker Sensory Garden and installation of security cameras in homes providing refuge for vulnerable women, to nature walks promoting mental health, and support for assistance dogs improving the quality of life of children with special needs.
Yerrabi Yurwang Child & Family Aboriginal Corporation received a grant last year and opened a Bush Tucker Sensory Garden and the Sandstone Yarning Circle, representing a significant milestone for fostering cultural preservation, education and community connection. “This initiative builds on Yerrabi Yurwang’s dedication to strengthening the cultural presence of the Aboriginal Community in northern Canberra,” said CEO Dea Delaney-Thiele.
Kidsafe ACT used its grant to launch an electricity safety awareness campaign. “This grant enabled us to reach thousands of people in the ACT and surrounding regions with important information on safety around electricity which directly benefits the safety of their kids,” said CEO Francis Ventura.
Beryl Women Inc., the third local charity to benefit from funding in 2024, used its grant to strengthen safety and security for women and children escaping domestic violence by installing security cameras in three of its ACT properties.
Applications for the ActewAGL 2025 Community Grants program are now open and close 30 June 2025. Visit the Community Grants page for full eligibility criteria and to download the application form.
