ActewAGL has supported The Salvation Army across many fundraising opportunities—such as Red Shield Appeal, the Giving Tree and crisis support funds—for two decades.

This well-regarded and respected organisation delivers community support and programs of all shapes and sizes, like disaster and emergency services, housing and homelessness support to assistance finding employment. Plus there are many more that are unseen until you need them.

As a not for profit, The Salvation Army rely on donations to fund their community programs.

Generous funds were donated to The Salvation Army during the black summer period from across the globe as the world witnessed the devastation caused by the bushfires. These funds were exclusively allocated to the bushfire recovery programs, meaning The Salvation Army still need funding for their separate ongoing programs.

Their main annual fundraiser is the Red Shield Appeal, traditionally delivered through volunteer-led, door-knocking efforts and face-to-face collection opportunities. In 2020, the Salvos took their fundraising efforts largely online for the first time to protect their volunteers and the community during the peak of COVID-19.

On behalf of our customers and community, ActewAGL donated $15000 to the Red Shield Appeal, so The Salvation Army can continue delivering critical services throughout the community in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
