Making small changes to the way you use energy around your business could mean big savings on your energy bill.

• Set and forget. Consider installing motion detectors, sensors and timers.
• Keep it clean. Regular cleaning of light fittings will maximise their output.
• Use what you need. Reduce lighting in areas that need less. This could be as simple as removing fluorescent tubes from every other fitting.

• Know your degrees. Set heating between 18° and 20° and cooling between 24° and 25°. Every 1 degree up or down can increase or reduce your costs by 10%.
• Less is best. Reduce heating in areas that need less warmth, such as storerooms, by shutting off vents.
• Block it out. Install blinds, awnings, solar screen shades and reflective film to reduce heat gain.
• Maintain and gain. Cleaning condenser coils, replacing air filters and checking ducts and insulation for damage can keep appliances running efficiently.
