NSW Family Energy Rebate

If you are an electricity account holder residing in NSW you may be entitled to the NSW Government’s Family Energy Rebate. This rebate is designed to help eligible families manage their energy costs and will appear as a credit on your bill.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the NSW Family Energy Rebate:

• you must have been eligible for and received the Commonwealth Government’s Family Tax Benefit A or B.
• be a NSW resident; and
• be a direct electricity account holder (this means your name appears on your electricity bill, solely or jointly).
  OR be a long-term resident of a residential park and pay the park owner for your electricity.

Goods and Services Tax (GST)

GST applies to the balance of your electricity account after the rebate has been deducted.

Application

To apply for the Family Energy Rebate please send completed application forms to NSW Department of Trade and Investment.  Applicants need to re-apply for the Family Energy Rebate each year.
