We welcome the EV Policy

Monday 16 April 2018

Today ActewAGL CEO Michael Costello welcomed the ACT Government’s Zero Emission Vehicle Policy announcement, and in full support announced the install of two extra electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

“Since 2016 ActewAGL has been investing in EVs and through the installation of EV charging stations we empower customers with greater choice and control,” said Michael.

“Eleven ActewAGL EV public charging stations are operational across the ACT, powered by 100% Renewable GreenPower supplied through ActewAGL’s Greenchoice green energy program.

“We know that one of the main drivers for increasing EV take-up is access to public charging stations. And we are proud to be the primary provider of public EV charging infrastructure in the ACT.

“ActewAGL are well advanced with plans for two additional charging stations to be installed in Cooma and Jindabyne by June 2018, and we are also considering the option of charging stations on the way to the South Coast.

“Canberrans are very supportive of electric vehicles, and these new installations support the season ritual of Canberrans heading to the snow in winter and in summer to the South coast, so this is just another way we are supporting energy efficient travel.

“These new charging stations further demonstrate our commitment to creating integrated energy systems that enable customers to simplify and manage their choices for an energy efficient future.

“This is a very exciting announcement and I look forward to the roll out of the policy and giving more choice, control and charging stations to Canberrans and those in surrounding regions,” concluded Michael.
