Only ActewAGL-accredited tree surgeons are authorised to work in close proximity to powerlines. ActewAGL-accredited tree surgeons are trained to follow safe work practices in the dangerous environment near powerlines.

Many ActewAGL-accredited tree surgeons can trim trees without having to shutdown electricity supply. However where it is necessary to shutdown electricity supply, ActewAGL charges a fee to land occupiers.

If more than one tree-clearing job is completed under the same outage, the charge will be apportioned between the relevant land occupiers.
