ACT solar power facility
In early 2008 the ACT Government and ActewAGL agreed to jointly fund a feasibility study into a large-scale solar power plant for the ACT. The study looked at which of the available solar technologies would be most appropriate for a solar power facility in the ACT, and established the economic viability and the net environmental impact of such a facility.
The final report was delivered in September 2008.
In May 2009 the ACT Government through the Department of the Environment, Climate Change, Energy and Water (DECCEW) released an Expression of Interest (EOI) to Construct, Own and Operate a Solar Power Facility in the ACT. The closing date for the EOI is 9 July 2009.
