ACT solar power facility feasibility study
The ACT Government and ActewAGL are currently funding a feasibility study into a large-scale solar power plant for the ACT.
The ACT Government and ActewAGL received various expressions of interest from qualified consultants for the feasibility study. Parsons Brinckerhoff was announced as the successful consulting firm to undertake the feasibility study into the ACT solar power facility.
Parsons Brinckerhoff is one of the world’s leading planning, environment and infrastructure firms. It has considerable experience in evaluating, managing and developing solar facilities, expertise that it will bring to this feasibility study.
The study will look at which of the available solar technologies would be most appropriate for a solar power facility in the ACT, and establish the economic viability and the net environmental impact of such a facility.
It is expected that the final report will be presented to the ACT Government and ActewAGL by 1 July 2008.
