Solar saving tips

Switching to solar is a great way to reduce your electricity bill. Once you've got your solar system up and running, here are some tips on how to make sure you're getting the greatest benefit.

Use appliances in the middle of the day when you’re generating more solar energy. For example set appliances such as your dishwasher and washing machine to operate during the middle of the day rather than in the evening.

Organise an annual clean for your solar panels to get rid of any dirt or dust. This will ensure they produce the most they can from the free, available sunlight.

Check regularly to make sure things like trees, roof ventilators, chimneys or antennas aren’t casting any shade on your panels. Even a small amount of shade can significantly impact output. In fact, shade on just one panel can result in lots of panels losing power.

Just like solar, there are lots of other ways to reduce your electricity bill. Check-out our energy-saving tips.
