Ways to pay your bill
Take the sting out of receiving all your bills at once with these convenient direct debit options. Plus as an added bonus you’ll save up to $40* per year just by paying your electricity and water bills from a savings or cheque account.
With EvenPay your bill payments are spread out over the entire year based on your history – so you’ll pay the same amount every month or fortnight. Every six months we’ll take another look to make sure your payments still cover your use and let you know if we recommend any changes.
How does this work?
The annual total of your ActewAGL account (including current account balance) is averaged out on a monthly or fortnightly basis and deducted from your nominated savings, cheque or credit card account.
For example, if your annual bills total $1,200 and you want your direct debit payments deducted monthly through EvenPay, you will potentially pay $100 each month.
We will assess your account every 6 months and if your annual usage varies, we may re-calculate your payment amount and adjust your deductions accordingly and we’ll notify you in writing of the changed amount.
The full amount of your bill will be deducted on the day the payment is due – so no more worrying about overdue bills – you’ll still receive a copy of your invoice for your records.
You set a fixed monthly or fortnightly payment, and then pay any remaining balance on your bill by the due date.
For example, if you choose to have $100 per month deducted from nominated savings, cheque or credit card account, you will have potentially paid $300.00 by the time your quarterly electricity bill is raised. If your electricity bill is $350, you will only have to pay the difference of $50 on the date the payment is due. If your account is in credit at the end of the quarter, the amount will be deducted from your next electricity bill.
BudgetPay is not available for natural gas.
If you receive payments for solar power generation, FullPay solar is available to you. If you generate more credits than you use, net credits will be automatically refunded to your nominated cheque or savings account. If you generate less energy than you use, the remaining balance will be deducted from your nominated account on the day the payment is due.
*The discount does not apply if you pay by credit card or if you have an existing Market Retail Contract and is a total saving of up to $40.16 (GST inclusive) for both services per annum.
You can pay and manage your bills online with ActewAGL epayplus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Either make a one-off payment, or register to be able to view your account, see past consumption history, estimate your bill and more.
In store: Take your bill to an ActewAGL store or to any Australia Post office to pay by cash, cheque, credit card* or eftpos.
Phone: Call ActewAGL to pay by credit card* – 24 hour service – 1300 309 099.
BPAY: Contact your financial institution. You will require a biller code which can be found on your latest bill.
Mail: Post your cheque with your payment slip (payable to ActewAGL Retail) to the address shown on your bill.
Australia Post: Pay your bill at any Post Office, call 13 18 16, or online at postbillpay.com.au
Centrepay: Centrepay is a free direct bill-paying service offered to customers receiving payments from Centrelink. Through Centrepay you can choose to pay your ActewAGL accounts by having a regular amount deducted from your Centrelink payment. Contact your local Centrelink office to arrange automatic deductions.
If you choose to pay your electricity or gas bills via credit card, a payment processing fee will apply. The fee is 0.55% (GST inclusive) of the payment amount. The fee will be added to your next bill.
If you would rather not pay the credit card payment processing fee, we have a number of other ways to pay your bill. Your options include paying by cash, cheque or eftpos and selecting your savings or cheque account.
