Introducing Evoenergy to NSW natural gas customers

Statement by ActewAGL CEO Michael Costello

The part of ActewAGL that manages our natural gas infrastructure business in Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra, Bungendore and Nowra is changing its name to Evoenergy on 1 January 2018.

Currently, ActewAGL is the brand name for the retail business and the electricity and natural gas network business. To help reduce confusion, the Australian Energy Regulator has told us to change the name of the electricity network business.

For consistency, we’re also rebranding our natural gas infrastructure business, which manages the pipes that make up the gas distribution network.

In the coming months you will start to see the branding change and the introduction of the new Evoenergy logo below on vehicles and signage around gas assets, plus a new website.

This name reflects the fast changing energy sector. Our national energy system is on a rapid path of evolution thanks to disruptive technology and our goal of enjoying a low-emissions future. Evoenergy is part of this exciting trajectory.

ActewAGL will continue as the Retail brand, which sells electricity and gas to customers in competition with other retail businesses and looks after the billing and customer enquiries.

What’s staying the same?

This is simply a change of name. Our service to customers doesn’t change.

  • Evoenergy and our existing contractor Zinfra will continue to maintain the gas network with the high standard of service, safety and reliability that we currently provide.
  • You can continue to report unplanned outages on the emergencies and faults line 13 19 09.
  • If you are an ActewAGL retail gas customer you will continue to receive your bills from ActewAGL.
