ActewAGL has thrown its weight behind The Salvation Army Christmas Appeal once again, this year joining forces with Canberra United to bring some extra joy to Canberra families in need.

In addition to ActewAGL staff donating gifts to the Appeal every year, fans of Canberra United were asked to donate toys and non-perishable foods during the ActewAGL Match Day on December 2.

More than 250 gifts were received, and delivered to The Salvation Army for distribution.

“As a major supporter of women’s sport, ActewAGL sponsors a dedicated Canberra United Match Day and this year we decided to use the event to raise much-needed toys and tins for The Salvation Army,” said ActewAGL Head of Brand, Communications and Corporate Affairs Michelle Rowe.

“ActewAGL has been helping the Salvos for more than 30 years and our staff have a long-standing tradition of donating gifts to the Salvos Christmas Appeal. The extra presents collected at Sunday’s game mean The Salvation Army are well on track to make a lot of Canberra families happy this Christmas.”
