Energy efficiency

For small business

Making small changes to the way you use energy around your business could mean big savings on your energy bill.

Lighting

  • Set and forget. Consider installing motion detectors, sensors and timers.
  • Keep it clean. Regular cleaning of light fittings will maximise their output.
  • Use what you need. Reduce lighting in areas that need less. This could be as simple as removing fluorescent tubes from every other fitting.

Heating and cooling

  • Know your degrees. Set heating between 18° and 20° and cooling between 24° and 25°. Every 1 degree up or down can increase or reduce your costs by 10%.
  • Less is best. Reduce heating in areas that need less warmth, such as storerooms, by shutting off vents.
  • Block it out. Install blinds, awnings, solar screen shades and reflective film to reduce heat gain.
  • Maintain and gain. Cleaning condenser coils, replacing air filters and checking ducts and insulation for damage can keep appliances running efficiently.

Office equipment

  • Know your degrees. Set heating between 18° and 20° and cooling between 24° and 25°. Every 1 degree up or down can increase or reduce your costs by 10%.
  • Less is best. Reduce heating in areas that need less warmth, such as storerooms, by shutting off vents.
  • Block it out. Install blinds, awnings, solar screen shades and reflective film to reduce heat gain.
  • Maintain and gain. Cleaning condenser coils, replacing air filters and checking ducts and insulation for damage can keep appliances running efficiently.

Refrigeration

  • Keep your cool. Install auto door-closers and strip curtains on walk-in freezers, coolers and doorways.
  • Cover up. Use night covers on display cases and shade condensers from direct sunlight.
  • Ice ice baby. Keep evaporator coils clean and free of ice build-up.

For large business

Tailoring energy management solutions to suit your business is what we do best. We’ll help you find the best way to lower energy consumption and save money by utilising our Energy Services.

Energy audit

We’ll undertake an energy review of your business and provide you with a report identifying the energy consumption of your key equipment. You’ll then receive recommendations and strategies to help make your everyday operations more efficient and ultimately save you money.

Power Factor correction

Simply put, Power Factor is a measure of how efficiently the load current into your site is being converted into useful working power. That is, finding out just how efficient the incoming power is being used at your site.

Installing Power Factor correction equipment can be a cost effective measure to maximise your site’s power efficiency, lower your energy consumption, reduce the risk of power failure and reduce your electricity bill.

Lighting solutions

Simple changes like upgrading your lighting will not only contribute to energy efficiency but also make a big difference to your bottom line.

We’ll assess your existing lighting and recommend and arrange installation of a more efficient solution, like upgrading to LEDs.

Operational energy management (OEM)

By keeping your building regularly monitored and expertly analysed, you will be maximise its efficiency and minimise the potential for energy wastage.

Energy wastage can be a result of a combination of things including human behaviours, software faults and less than efficient hardware.

Our experts can use OEM – a set of technologies and processes to identify anomalies as they occur, analyse the cause and provide a report to have them rectified. Basically, it works by converting a building’s data into action items. End result – optimising your building and improving energy efficiency.
