Our education site also offers a large range of information on electricity, water, and wastewater.

How to book a tour at LMWQCC

LMWQCC is currently undertaking a major construction upgrade. Tours of the site are of limited access.

The only access to some lower areas of the plant is via a bus or vehicle carrying a flashing safety beacon on the roof. Anyone who enters the construction site on foot must be inducted, carry high visibility clothing, ear muffs, safety glasses and safety footwear.

Please be aware of the above requirements before requesting a tour of the site.

A range of tours are available at Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre. Whether you are a small community group, or a school group, LMWQCC will cater a tour to suit your needs. Tours consist of a video presentation and talk, followed by a tour of some or all of the facilities, depending on each group's particular needs.

For the safety and convenience of all our visitors, and to ensure that there are no disruptions to LMWQCC's operations, the following guidelines should be noted when organising a tour:

  • groups must have a minimum of ten (10), and a maximum of thirty (30) persons
  • LMWQCC can only cater for one tour per day
  • always wear comfortable and sturdy footwear]

School groups are also welcome at LMWQCC. Most tours are organised for Year 9 students, and above. If you would like to organise a tour for students below this level you will require a bus for the tour. We are happy to arrange a tour for most age groups, simply contact LMWQCC to discuss your needs. In addition, the following guidelines must be noted:

  • if the school travels to LMWQCC by bus, it is required that the bus remain with the group for transport around the site
  • school groups must have one responsible adult for each fifteen (15) students
