Clearing around power poles

ActewAGL regularly inspects power poles so they must be easy to access. Land occupiers must maintain a 1.5-metre clearance around any ActewAGL power pole on their property.

With the exception of boundary fences, all obstructions such as tress, garden sheds, compost heaps and chicken pens must be kept away from power poles. If there is a hard surface too close to poles, you must be able to temporarily remove it for routine power pole inspections. Normal masonry pavers are an ideal hard surface to have near a power pole as you can easily remove the replace them.
