Underground utility services

To prevent damage to underground utility services, including natural gas pipes, call Dial Before You Dig on 1100. This service can assist you in locating underground services in your area before you start excavating. Service operators are available Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 5.00pm (EST).

Metering equipment

Please keep all natural gas equipment, such as meters and pressure regulators, free from damage and interference. For the safety of meter readers and maintenance personnel, please ensure that there is safe, convenient and unobstructed access to your natural gas meter.

You should occasionally check your natural gas meter to make sure it is free from leaf litter, shrubs and hedges. This is normal practice as laid out by the ACT and NSW Rural Fire Services.
