NSW Pensioner and Veteran rebates — electricity

If you hold a current pensioner concession card or Department of Veterans' Affairs gold card, you may be eligible for a rebate on your electricity charges.

The electricity rebate is calculated on a daily basis and will appear on your bill as a separate line item.

Please note: you must be listed as the current account holder to be eligible.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the rebate for each billing period:

  • only one rebate will be allowed for an account in each billing period
  • the property relating to the account has to be the sole or principle place of residence of the applicant
  • the applicant has to provide ActewAGL with details of the concession card. The pensioner concession card has to be issued to the applicant by Centrelink and the gold card (certain types only) by the Department of Veterans' Affairs.

Application

To apply, simply complete and submit this form online.

To complete this form you will need:

  • your pensioner card number or your Department of Veterans' Affairs gold card number
  • the start date of your cards
  • your ActewAGL electricity account number.
Please note

You will need to fill out a new application if you change your address. Applications must be submitted as soon as possible prior to the issue of the first account on which the rebate is claimed. Retrospective adjustments may be made.

Goods and services tax

GST applies to the balance of your electricity account after the rebate has been deducted.
