ACT Healthcare rebate — electricity only

If you hold a Healthcare card you will be eligible for a rebate on your electricity account.

The electricity rebate is calculated on a daily basis. There are two different rebate rates that apply at different times through the year, depending on the season (Winter/Spring or Summer/Autumn). The rebate will appear on your electricity bill as a separate line item.

Please note: you must be listed as the current account holder to be eligible.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the rebate for each billing period:

  • only one rebate will be allowed for an account in each billing period
  • the property relating to the account has to be the sole or principle place of residence of the applicant
  • the applicant has to provide ActewAGL with details of the Healthcare card issued to the applicant by Centrelink.

Application

To apply, simply complete and submit this form online.

To complete this form you will need:

  • your Healthcare card number
  • the expiry date of your card
  • your ActewAGL electricity account number.
Please note

You will need to fill out a new application if you change your address. Applications must be submitted as soon as possible prior to the issue of the first account on which the rebate is claimed. Retrospective adjustments may be made.

Goods and services tax

GST applies to the balance of your electricity account after the rebate has been deducted.
