NSW natural gas tariffs
Why are prices increasing?
IPART has allowed ActewAGL to increase prices in Queanbeyan and the capital region by CPI plus 75 cents per gigajoule to recover increased gas transportation costs.
How much extra will Queanbeyan customers have to pay?
For Queanbeyan customers, the increase is approximately 54 cents (including GST) per week for a typical residential gas customer who uses 23 GJ per annum.
How much extra will capital regional customers have to pay?
For capital region customers, the increase is approximately 56 cents (including GST) per week for a typical residential gas customer who uses 23 GJ per annum.
What can I do if I can’t pay my natural gas bill?
ActewAGL can assist disadvantaged and low-income customers with existing programs in place, such as the Staying Connected program.
Who does this increase apply to?
This increase applies to customers who are supplied under a Standard Form Customer Supply Contract at regulated prices. This increase also applies to residential customers who have signed a contract with ActewAGL (for example a NSW or Queanbeyan bundle contract).
How is ActewAGL trying to minimise the impact on customers?
ActewAGL is aiming to minimise the impact on customers in the capital region and Queanbeyan of additional natural gas costs that will be incurred in June 2008 by smoothing the increase over 15 months starting 1 April. Prices to Canberra customers will be increased from 1 July 2008 as these customers faced a large price increase in July last year.
