What account will my bundle discount be applied to?

You have the option to choose which account to apply your bundle discount to – either your total ActewAGL electricity account or TransACT account. It’s your choice!

What is/isn’t covered by my bundle discount?

If you choose to apply your discount to your ActewAGL electricity account:

  • your discount will be applied to your total electricity supply and consumption charges, along with supply for Greenchoice if you include green energy services in your bundle
  • your discount will not be applied to miscellaneous ActewAGL fees and charges such as reconnection fees, special meter reads and special installation costs, nor will it be applied to government fees, taxes, charges and levies imposed by a governmental authority such as the Utilities Network Facilities Tax (UNFT).

If you choose to apply your discount to your TransACT account:

  • your discount will be applied to all of the TransACT products included in your bundle.
    • Phone: access and usage
    • Mobile: access and usage
    • Broadband: access
    • TV: access and usage charges including video-on-demand
  • Your discount will not be applied to TransTALK Flex rental fees and charges, miscellaneous TransACT fees and charges such as reconnection fees and other similar charges, nor will it be applied to government fees, taxes, charges and levies imposed by a governmental authority such as the Utilities Network Facilities Tax (UNFT).

When will I start to get my bundle discount?

Your bundle discount will start once every service you have included in your bundle is active in our system.

For example

  • You are already our customer for electricity, natural gas, Grapevine ISP, phone, and Greenchoice services, so all of these services are active in our system. You simply want to bundle them.
    • Your bundle discount will start immediately (or, after your 10-day cooling-off period where we have approached you to bundle).
  • You are already our customer for electricity, natural gas, mobile and TV services, but you also want to sign up for phone and then include all of these services in a bundle.
    • Your bundle discount will start once your phone service is connected and active in our system.
  • You have just moved to the ACT and do not currently have any services with ActewAGL or TransACT. However, you’d like to sign up to electricity, natural gas, phone, broadband, and TV services and then bundle them.
    • Your bundle discount will commence once all of the services are connected and active in our system. Natural gas is generally the last service to become active in a bundle, as it takes effect after the first meter read (eg up to four months).

Is the bundle discount capped at a certain amount?

Yes, the bundle discount is capped at a total saving of $500 per year. If you reach your annual cap, your discount will be stopped and will begin again on the first-year anniversary of your bundle discount commencement date.

Are there any services or individual service plans that I can’t include in my bundle agreement?

Only residential services and plans are eligible to bundle, so you can not include any business plans. See the table below for more details.

Will I get a Privileges Card as part of my bundle?

If you bundle five or more services, you will be eligible to receive a Privileges Card valued at $329 and valid for 24 months.

Your Privileges Card will be issued in the name of the primary customer on your bundle application and cannot be issued in two names.

If your Privileges Card is lost or stolen, please contact the Privileges team on (02) 6161 1999 and they will arrange a replacement card for you at a cost of $35.

I’m eligible for a Privileges Card, so when will I receive it?

If you are a new bundle customer (i.e. you do not have an existing bundle), you will be sent a Privileges Card 30 days after your discount starts.

If you have an existing bundle and you sign up to the 2008 ACT bundle, a Privileges Card will be issued on the date on which your existing bundle agreement was due to expire.

Do I need to be the account holder for every service to bundle?

In many households, some of the services may be in one customer’s name (for example, electricity and green energy in the husband’s name) and other services may be in another customer’s name (for example, natural gas and phone in the wife’s name).

To accommodate this, a maximum of two account holders can apply to bundle their household’s services.

So when I bundle, I’ll just have one contract?

You only have one bundle agreement. However, separate to this you have individual services contracts with ActewAGL, TransACT and/or Grapevine for each of the individual services included in your bundle.

For example

  • You have a bundle consisting of electricity, natural gas, phone and broadband services
    • Aside from your bundle agreement, you have an individual service contract with ActewAGL for electricity and natural gas, and with TransACT for phone and broadband.
  • You have a bundle consisting of electricity, phone, broadband, TV and ISP services.
    • Aside from your bundle agreement, you have an individual service contract with ActewAGL for electricity, TransACT for phone, broadband and TV, and Grapevine for ISP.

You must consider your individual service contracts when making changes to your bundle (such as upgrading, downgrading or cancelling service).

When does my bundle agreement start?

Your 24-month bundle agreement starts from the date you sign a bundle application.

Do I get a 10-day cooling-off period if I decide to sign up to the bundle?

If ActewAGL or TransACT contact you and you decide to sign up to the bundle (this is called a solicited sale), you will receive a 10-day cooling-off period. During this time you may decide to cancel your bundle application without any penalty.

If you contact ActewAGL or TransACT and sign up to the bundle (this is called an unsolicited sale), you will not receive a cooling-off period.

I already have an existing bundle, so can I upgrade to this new bundle?

Yes, you can. There are three scenarios.

  1. If you’re in the last three months of your existing bundle agreement, you can upgrade or recontract to the new 2008 ACT bundle without any penalty.

  2. If you have more than three months remaining on your existing bundle agreement, you can only upgrade to the new 2008 ACT bundle if you include another eligible service in your bundle, which:
    1. you don’t already have; or
    2. you have, but which isn’t under an existing contract.

    For example
    • You have an existing TransACT contract for: fixed-phone, broadband and subscription TV.
    • You have an existing bundle which includes: electricity, natural gas and fixed-phone. You want to upgrade your bundle by adding broadband and subscription TV.
    • In this instance, you will not be able to add broadband and subscription TV to your bundle until it is time to renew your TransACT contract.

    Another example
    • You have an existing Greenchoice account, which does not have a contract period associated with it.
    • You have an existing bundle which includes: electricity, natural gas, fixed-phone, broadband and mobile phone. You want to upgrade your bundle by adding Greenchoice.
    • In this instance, you will be able to add Greenchoice to your bundle because prior to adding it to your bundle, it was not under contract.

    Another example
    • You have an existing un-contracted TransMOBILE cap plan.
    • You have an existing bundle which includes: electricity, natural gas, fixed-phone, broadband and mobile. You want to upgrade your bundle by including your uncontracted TransMOBILE service.
    • In this case, you will be able to add your mobile phone service to your bundle as you don’t have an existing contract with TransMOBILE.

    For example
    • You currently have an out-of-date TransACT contract for: fixed-phone, broadband and subscription TV.
    • You have an existing bundle which includes: electricity, natural gas and fixed-phone. You want to upgrade your bundle by adding broadband and subscription TV.
    • In this instance, you will be able to add broadband and subscription TV to your bundle because they are not currently under a TransACT contract.

  3. Otherwise, the only other way to sign up to the new bundle is by cancelling your existing bundle agreement, pay the associated cancellation fees, and then sign up to the new 2008 ACT bundle.

If I sign up to the new bundle can I upgrade/downgrade my bundle at anytime?

You can elect to upgrade your 2008 ACT bundle agreement at anytime without penalty, but you must sign a new 24-month agreement to do so and you must apply with point two outlined above.

If you decide to downgrade your 2008 ACT bundle agreement, you will incur a $50 bundle cancellation fee for each service(s) removed. Your remaining services will then be used to form a new 24-month bundle agreement.

Note – If you downgrade and remove one of the compulsory services, then your entire bundle agreement will be cancelled you will be charged the full bundle cancellation fee ($50 for each service included in your bundle agreement).

If I sign up to the new bundle, can I upgrade/downgrade the individual service plans in my bundle at anytime?

For electricity and natural gas, you must remain on the same plan for the duration of your bundle agreement.

For all other eligible bundle services (phone, broadband, mobile, TV, ISP and green energy), your bundle agreement will not be affected and no bundle charges will be applied if you decide to upgrade or downgrade to another eligible service plan for any of the individual services included in your bundle agreement.

However, you may like to check with the individual service provider (eg ActewAGL, TransACT or Grapevine) to see if they charge any fees for upgrading or downgrading to a different plan as part of your individual service contract with them.

For example

  • You have electricity, natural gas, phone, broadband, TV and ISP services included in your bundle. You want to upgrade/downgrade your TransACT phone, broadband and TV package (Home Pack). Although no bundle charges are applied for this change, you should check with TransACT if there is a charge to upgrade/downgrade your service, which is supplied by them.
  • You have electricity, natural gas, phone, ISP and green energy services included in your bundle. You want to upgrade/downgrade your Grapevine ISP plan. Although no bundle charges are applied for this change, you should check with Grapevine if there is a charge to upgrade/downgrade your service, which is supplied by them.
  • You have electricity, natural gas and phone services included in your bundle. You want to upgrade/downgrade your electricity plan. If you do so, you will be in breach of your bundle agreement and bundle cancellation fees will be applied.

Is there a fee if I decide to cancel my bundle before the end of the agreement period?

If you decide to cancel your bundle before the end of the 24-month agreement period, then you will incur a cancellation fee of $50 for each service included in your bundle agreement.

For example

  • If you have electricity, natural gas and phone services included in your bundle and decide to cancel your agreement, then your cancellation fee will be $50 x 3 services = $150
  • If you have a bundle of six services and decide to cancel your bundle agreement, then your cancellation fee will be $50 x 6 services = $300.

If you received a Privileges Card as part of your bundle, you must return it to ActewAGL within seven days of the cancellation date.

Please note – the cancellation fees outlined above are only in relation to the bundle. If you decide to cancel any of your individual services with the individual service provider (eg ActewAGL, TransACT, Grapevine), then the service provider may also charge a separate cancellation fee based on your terms and conditions for that individual service.

For example

  • You have decided to cancel your bundle which includes electricity, natural gas, Grapevine ISP and Greenchoice green energy services and incur a bundle cancellation of $200.
  • Separate to this, you decide to also cancel your Grapevine service completely you may be charged a Grapevine cancellation fee.

Will I be charged a bundle cancellation fee if I move house?

You won’t be charged a bundle cancellation fee if you move to a new residential address where:

  • the services included in your bundle agreement can’t be supplied by ActewAGL, TransACT or Grapevine at the contracted rates
  • not all of the services included in your bundle agreement are available but you enter into a new bundle agreement for services which are available at your new address
  • only some of the services are available at your new residential address, and these services are not eligible to form a Bundle.

Will my prices increase?

Regardless of whether you bundle or not, prices for your individual services may increase inline with the general terms of your individual ActewAGL, TransACT or Grapevine services.

Will my bundle be impacted if I don’t pay my bills?

Yes, if you default on payment of bills for any of the services included in your bundle, ActewAGL, TransACT or Grapevine reserve the right to cancel your bundle agreement and implement full cancellation fees.

Do I still get my direct debit discount if I bundle?

If you decide to bundle, you won’t get a direct debit discount on top of your bundle discount.
