Woodlawn Wind Farm fast facts
- The wind farm has an installed capacity of 50 megawatts.
- It will consist of 25 wind turbines of 2 megawatts, access tracks and a substation.
- The size of the wind turbines will be 100 — 118m in height to the tip of the blade. The diameter of the rotor will be 80m.
- The wind farm will generate 140,000 megawatt hours per year.
- The wind farm will generate enough green energy to supply 22,500 homes.
- Using the wind farm to generate this electricity avoids the production of over 124,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions.
- The project will provide over $96 million in investment.
- The project will generate jobs during construction and economic flow on benefits for the surrounding towns.
- The project was considered State Signficant and a comprehensive environmental assessment was undertaken. The project has been approved by the NSW Government and has met all the requirements of the NSW Planning process.
- Woodlawn has an excellent wind resource, one of the best in NSW.
