ActewAGL in the capital region — south-east New South Wales

ActewAGL provides electricity, natural gas and internet services to south-east New South Wales and the ACT, where we also provide water and wastewater services. We have over 85 years experience in providing electricity to the ACT and through part owners AGL, can offer the expertise of Australia's largest energy provider.

ActewAGL is based in the ACT and has over 100,000 natural gas customers in the ACT and regional NSW, about 140,000 electricity and 130,000 water customers in the ACT, and 6,000 electricity customers in NSW. ActewAGL also provide internet services to more than 10,000 customers with Grapevine.

ActewAGL's expansion into the capital region was finalised on Friday 27 June 2003. From 1 July natural gas and electricity customer contracts in the capital region were transferred from AGL to ActewAGL. From mid-July 2003 customers started receiving bills on ActewAGL letterhead. If you continued to purchase natural gas after receiving this account you agreed to be a retail customer of ActewAGL.

Your tariff and any rebate you receive on your account is the same as it was with AGL. Prices that customers are charged did not change as a result of the new arrangements. Certified price changes happen annually on or soon after 1 July, but these are not related to ActewAGL becoming your new energy retailer. AGL no longer services the capital region and therefore it is not possible to remain a customer of AGL. New ActewAGL customers in the capital region requiring assistance should contact ActewAGL on 13 14 93 or email capitalregion@actewagl.com.au.

If you live in southeast New South Wales you can also switch your electricity service to ActewAGL, or bundle your natural gas, electricity, internet and telephone services and receive a rebate on all the accounts that you choose to bundle! Payment options

If you've switched to ActewAGL and wish to continue using direct debit, or would like to start taking advantage of this convenient paying option, will need to provide us with your direct debit account details and consent. Simply complete the online direct debit form or call 13 14 93 to apply.
