Saving water in the ACT

The National Carillon in Canberra
The National Carillon in Canberra on Aspen Island in Lake Burley Griffin, Canberra

The ACT government and Actew Corporation employ a number of strategies through the ‘Think water, act water’ http://www.thinkwater.act.gov.au/ program to encourage and conduct sustainable water resource management.

The ACT government reviews the use and availability of water regularly, and uses water restrictions http://www.actew.com.au/SaveWaterForLife/WaterRestrictions/default.aspx as one strategy to reduce water usage across the community.

ActewAGL promotes the ‘Stop the Drop’ http://www.actewagl.com.au/environment/water/default.aspx campaign to support the government’s water conservation programs.

ActewAGL has also developed the Eco-living Exhibition in Majura Rise in conjunction with Actew Corporation and the Canberra Investment Corporation. The three display homes in the exhibition showcase water- and energy- efficient options people can apply in their own homes.
