Progress chart - 8 - Submit change application

Step 8: Submit an application to change an easement or network alignment (if requirement)

ActewAGL will approve an application to create, extinguish or relocate a service reservation (easement) provided that:

  • the proposal complies with ACTEW S&I rules
  • where extinguishment is requested, ActewAGL has no use for that service reservation (easement) now or in the future
  • "dual" service reservations (easements) containing sewer and stormwater networks are approved in writing by both ActewAGL and ACT Stormwater
  • new network alignments are surveyed and submitted by the leaseholder to the ACT Planning and Land Authority survey office to modify service reservations on the "deposited plan" and/or any necessary title documentation.

As a condition of approval, ActewAGL may require the property owner or their agent to apply for an Easement-in-Gross to be added to their property title. Easements-in-Gross are commonly required for, but not limited to, special conditional approvals and changes of equipment ownership from a leaseholder to ACTEW.

The owner of premises must meet all costs associated with the addition of, or alteration to, a registered service reservation (easement) or execution of an Easement-in-Gross including, without limitation, the costs associated with the construction of new or removal of existing network equipment, reinstatement of structures or landscape features and undertaking the approvals process.
