We are also committed to the sustainable use of essential energy and water resources both locally and internationally. A number of business and green energy initiatives testify to this commitment, including Ecowise Environmental, ActewAGL Greenchoice, ActewAGL Hydro and ActewAGL Solar.

ActewAGL is strongly committed to providing our customers with outstanding customer service. Since 1998 our customer contact centre has received recognition for excellent customer service in the energy industry through a study, conducted annually, by Customer Service Benchmarking Australia.

Our top-rated customer contact centre

The ActewAGL contact centre handles approximately 750 calls each day, equating to some 187,000 calls annually and has consistently maintained a service benchmark level of 90 per cent of calls answered in less than 20 seconds.

ActewAGL maintain a strong presence within the building and home-owner markets through sponsoring a number of exhibition villages.

Innovation

Within our established home market, we have extended our service to provide a 24-hour hot water replacement service and have implemented the ActewAGL Approved Dealer Scheme that provides householders with heating, cooling, hot water and cooking systems from an approved dealer who is committed to quality standards in pricing, service and products. We also conduct regular quantitative and qualitative research, including customer satisfaction and loyalty, new product development, direct debit and marketing initiatives, to ensure that the products and services we develop meet the needs of our customers, and that ActewAGL's excellent satisfaction rating is maintained among our customer base.
