ActewAGL joint venture board
John Mackay, AM, Chairman
Mr Mackay is the Chairman of ACTEW Corporation and was appointed as Chairman of ActewAGL on 1 July 2008. Until 30 June 2008 Mr Mackay was Chief Executive Officer of ActewAGL. Mr Mackay was Chief Executive Officer of ACTEW Corporation from 27 January 1998 until the formation of the joint venture in October 2000. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Administration and Economics).
Mr Mackay is also the Chairman of TransACT Communications and Chairman of Neighbourhood Cable Pty Ltd. In addition, he is an active board member of several community organisations including Koomarri, the Canberra Glassworks, St John’s Redevelopment, Calvary Hospital, The Salvation Army, the Cancerians, the Carbine Club, the Australian Institute of Management and the Canberra Raiders.
Michael Easson AM, Deputy Chairman
Mr Easson is Chairman of the EG Property Group, a business consultant to Allens Arthur Robinson, a Director of ING Real Estate Group, Stadium Australia Management Limited and a Member of the ActewAGL Joint Venture Board.
Mr Easson has been a Director of ACTEW since July 1995 and Deputy Chairman since May 1996. He is Chairman of ACTEW’s Audit and Risk Management Committee. Mr Easson was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 1998.
Mark Sullivan AO
Mr Sullivan is the Managing Director of ACTEW Corporation and a member of the ActewAGL Joint Venture Partnerships Board. Mr Sullivan was previously Secretary of the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) and President of the Repatriation Commission and Chair of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission (2004-2008).
Before being appointed Secretary of DVA, Mr Sullivan was Secretary of the Department for Family and Community Services (2002-2004), Chief Executive Officer of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission (1999-2002), and Deputy Secretary at the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs. He has extensive senior managerial experience in both the private and public service sectors including WANG Australia, SBS, the Department of Social Security and the Australian Taxation Office.
Mr Sullivan received an Australian Centenary Medal in 2003 and he was made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2008. This recognition was for his work in multicultural affairs, in indigenous affairs, community services and with veterans.
Jim Galvin
Mr Galvin, General Manager AGL Retail Energy for Queensland has over 25 years in the energy industry in both technical and commercial
roles and has been with AGL since 1990. During his time with AGL he has held a variety of senior management roles.
Mr Galvin has had extensive local and international experience running integrated energy companies. Mr Galvin is currently
a board member of both Elgas and the Energy Water Ombudsman NSW (EWON) as well as a committee member of the Energy Ombudsman
Advisory Committee in Queensland.
Yap Chee Keong
Mr Yap Chee Keong, Chief Financial Officer of Singapore Power, is responsible for providing financial
strategy and leadership throughout the SP Group. This includes overseeing the corporate finance, treasury,
financial management, tax planning and risk management functions. He is also responsible for corporate planning,
strategic investments and value creation. Prior to joining SP, Mr Yap worked with several multinational, listed
and private companies as Chief Financial Officer and in other senior management positions. Mr Yap has a Bachelor
of Accountancy degree from the National University of Singapore and is a Fellow of the Institute of Certified
Public Accountants of Singapore.
Lim Howe Run
Mr Lim Howe Run, Managing Director Strategic Investments of Singapore Power
Limited, is responsible for the management of SP's overseas investments.
Mr Lim is also the Deputy CEO of Jemena. Prior to his appointment as
Managing Director and Deputy CEO, he has held various positions in risk
management, asset management and business development within the Group.
Mr Lim holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree from the
National University of Singapore. He is also an alumni of the Harvard
Business School, US.
