Rebates for rainwater tanks

Rainwater tank plumbed into the internal water supply of a houseBy using rainwater in place of mains water in the garden or the home you can make an important contribution towards reducing the demand on our water supply.

Rainwater tanks can be used to store water for garden irrigation, pools, drinking water, household washing and toilet flushing.

You can also make some savings on your ActewAGL water account if you use a rainwater tank. However, you should determine what these savings are likely to be before purchasing a rainwater tank system.

The ACT Government offers rebates for the installation of eligible rainwater tanks with an internal plumbing connection to inside the home (for example to the toilet or washing machine).

You may also be eligible for rebate for the plumbing component alone if you have an existing rainwater tank and wish to connect it to your home.

For more information on rainwater tank rebates visit the Think water, act water website or call them on 13 22 81.
