Water restrictions
The ACT and Queanbeyan now have Permanent Water Conservation Measures in force which are mandatory and enforceable. Anyone found in breach of the restrictions may be fined.
Customers who can demonstrate that they would suffer serious detriment from the application of these measures may apply to the Water Conservation Office for an exemption. You should wait for a response from the Water Conservation Office to your application before you make any relevant financial commitments.
If you'd like more information on these water conservation measures or on obtaining an exemption, visit the Water Conservation Office or call them on 6248 3131.
Breaches of water restrictions
If you believe you have witnessed a breach of Permanent Water Conservation Measures, you may contact the Water Conservation Office on 6248 3131. You will be asked to supply the address where the contravention has occurred, what the breach was and at what time the breach occurred. Alternatively, submit an online report.
