Solar hot water payment plan

To apply for interest-free finance on a solar hot water system, you will need to:

• visit an ActewAGL Approved dealer that offers finance on solar hot water systems (currently only the ActewAGL Energy Shop in Fyshwick) and obtain a Solar Hot Water Appliance Payment Plan application or download the Solar Hot Water Appliance Payment Plan application
• complete sections A and B of the application form
• read the terms and conditions (particularly section one) before completing section B
• return your completed application form to an ActewAGL Approved dealer for assessment by ActewAGL. In most cases, you will receive notification that your application has been approved or declined within one working day. If approved:
  • your finance will be valid for three months from the date of approval
  • you will be required to pay a 1/3 deposit of the total amount owing at the time of application
• after your solar hot water system is installed, you must complete and sign the remaining sections of the application form and return them to the ActewAGL approved dealer

Criteria for approval

The minimum finance available is $500 for approved products. The maximum finance available is $10,000 for approved products. Customers may choose a 12- or 24-month repayment term for the financed amount and must also pay a 1/3 deposit of the total amount owing at the time of application.

Applications will only be accepted:

• for supply and installation of new fixed equipment in domestic homes in the ACT and NSW (partial upgrades or repair are not accepted)
• where the loan repayment instalments are paid via direct debit
• for products approved by ActewAGL
• via ActewAGL Approved dealers and ActewAGL Energy Shops
• where ActewAGL is the supplier of electricity and natural gas (where natural gas is available) to the address of the installed approved product
• from the property owner
• if a copy of evidence for property ownership is provided, such as a land rates notice, where the property owner is not in the ACT
• where the applicant is a Greenchoice 100% wind customer.

Applications for supply only or installation only will not be considered.

Applications will not be accepted from registered builders unless it is for their principal place of residence. Owner-builders may apply under the scheme. Final decision on approval of finance rests solely at the discretion of ActewAGL.

Finance approval must be completed prior to the installation being carried out. In these criteria for approval a reference to ActewAGL means ActewAGL Retail ABN 46 221 314 841.
