Green choices for your home
There are two ways to buy Greenchoice. You can either opt for a fixed amount each day or a variable amount based on a percentage of the electricity you use. Either way, you will help to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by increasing the amount of electricity generated from 'green' sources.
Fixed-use option
Depending on the plan you choose, we will buy a fixed amount of green energy on your behalf each day. This way, you know exactly how much you will pay every quarter for Greenchoice, regardless of your total energy use. As a guide, a three-bedroom home uses 10-30kWh of electricity per day. This equates to 3.43-10.30 tonnes per annum.
There are four plans to choose from under this option. You can purchase more than 20kWh per day if you wish.
Anyone, living anywhere in Australia can sign up to a fixed-use Greenchoice plan. You don’t need to be an existing ActewAGL customer.
