Picture showing lady from Curtin Primary School reaching toward an airlock doorTo help combat climate change and improve energy efficiency in schools we created a grant to help Canberra and Queanbeyan schools implement an energy or water-saving project.

We're pleased to announce the two winning schools - Curtin Primary School and O'Connor Cooperative School.

Curtin Primary School has improved energy efficiency and will reduce heat loss in winter through installing plant seals and stops to external double doors, along with closures and/or modifications to airlock doors.

O'Connor Cooperative School plans to save energy and insulate the ceiling of their 1948 building and hot water services. They will also create an education campaign about reducing their electricity consumption.

This webpage will be updated to report on the schools' progress including energy-saving results and photos of the finished projects.

Congratulations to Curtin Primary School and O'Connor Cooperative School and their efforts to improve environmental sustainability.
