Websites and web pages

Firebox web browser
Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser

You can think of the world-wide-web as a huge and fast growing electronic library.

Each website is like a book in that library, and each web page is like a page in that book. The home page for a website is the first web page you see when you visit that site.

You can ‘turn the pages’ of a website to access information by using the website's menu and other hyperlinks within the text and images on each web page.

This education website, for example, contains interesting information about energy, water, sustainability and communications.

This can be accessed from the menus at the top and left of the page. Each click on an item in one of these menus opens a new web page with that information in your web browser
