Have you ever wondered...

  • how are messages sent through the nervous system in your body?
  • what lightning is?
  • why do you sometimes get zapped when you step out of the car?
  • what energy comes out of a battery?
  • why your hair sometimes flies out and crackles when you brush it?
  • what type of energy makes an ipod work?

The answer to all of these questions is electricity.

Experiment - Make your hair stand on end!

Requires: A blown up balloon.

Rub the balloon on your head for a few minutes then hold it just above your head.

Now look in a mirror and check out your hairstyle!
