Choosing natural gas heating makes a lot of sense
Did you know that heating and cooling uses 38 per cent of an average household’s energy. In our region, nothing beats natural gas for comfort. What’s more, natural gas is cheaper and better for the environment*.
Ducted (central) gas systems are commonly used to heat a whole house whereas space (flued or unflued) heating generally heats the one or two rooms that are in use.
Choose your natural gas heating appliance
Look for gas appliances with a high star rating for maximum energy efficiency, thermostatic control so you can select and maintain a desired temperature and time switches for on and off programming.
Check if you're eligible for a rebate
Do you have a wood heater? You could be eligible to receive an ACT government subsidy of $800 when you replace your wood heater with a ducted gas system, or $600 for a flued system.
