Compressed natural gas (CNG)
Compressed natural gas (CNG) is a compressed form of the natural gas commonly used in homes for cooking and heating. Widely recognised as a reliable and clean fuel source, CNG has become a cheaper, cleaner and efficient fuel for road transport.
Major transport fleet operators are increasingly choosing CNG over diesel, petrol and even liquid petroleum gas (LPG).

CNG makes business sense
CNG makes business sense because it:
- is cheaper as it is not reliant on world oil prices
- provides comparable vehicle range, and increased vehicle efficiency because it operates under higher pressure then petrol
- is abundant in Australia, offering a secure energy source
- has a proven track record
- is one of the safest available because it is not toxic and is lighter than air so — unlike diesel, petrol or LPG — it will quickly dissipate if a leak should occur
- is more environmentally friendly because it is cleaner burning then diesel or petrol, releasing less carbon emissions.
